International Bazaar - American Stand

The American Stands are in desperate need of volunteers. Without the help of our American and adopted community, our stands are in jeopardy of not opening at this year's International Bazaar, breaking a 50 year-long tradition of supporting charities world-wide. Until now, we have been able to donate more than 20,000€ each year!

We already count with a handful of committed volunteers, however, the stands require more help in order to remain at the International Bazaar this year. We understand that around the holidays everyone is busy with commitments. But please note, there are many jobs that can be catered to volunteer's availability, so please don't allow time to be your factor for not lending a hand!

We are seeking, among other positions, a volunteer who would like to get involved as Chair of the stands. The responsibilities and tasks of this person are the following:

1.       She is the 'glue' between the Merchandise, Food stand and the Bazaar.
2.       Will be asked to attend the 6 or so meetings that the Bazaar oversees.
3.       Finds volunteers needed to set up, work the 2 days of the event and tear down.
4.       There is fundraising to be done.
5.       Coordinate drivers and pricing for Merchandise and Food stands.

Here's a glimpse at some of the other areas that we need more help with:

Bazaar Chair:
  • Oversee both the American Merchandise and Food Stands operations
  • Liaison with the International Bazaar

Merchandise Stand:
  • March - June: a few hours per week reviewing catalogues for new and  interesting products.
  • October/November: 4 days for pricing the Merchandise to sale at the Bazaar.
  • December: Setting up/tearing down the Merchandise on the stand the day before/after the Bazaar.

Food Stand:
  • September: Help organizing a list of American food items to be sold at the Bazaar.
  • October/November: Assist in picking up the food from the US Military Base in Germany, then pricing the food items.
  • December: Setting up the Food items on the stand the day before the Bazaar.

Trunk or Treat Needs Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to form the 2017 committee! "Trunk or Treat" is a big family event that gathers around 300 children each year.

The committee members will help out with: planning the event, organizing members to participate with their cars, buying candy, general setting up of the day as well as running the event itself.

It's always a lot of fun for the children and we need your help to make this year's event another big success! Please contact Susan Farrell at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you would like to help out.
